The Challenge is open to undergraduate and postgraduate students aged 18 to 25, in teams of 3 to 5 from the same university, and to universities and institutions that wish to nominate teams or take part. We do not accept applicants under 18.
We use Google Forms to collect applications. Google acts as a service provider for this purpose.

Your information may be processed in India and in other countries where we, our service providers, or jury and mentor members are located, including the United Kingdom, where the Grand Finale is planned. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, as set out in Section 8.

We do not sell or rent personal data.
We may take photographs or recordings at BuildX events. We will tell you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before using your image or voice in our communications. If you prefer not to be photographed or recorded, tell the event team and we will respect your request.
Where you give us dietary or accessibility requirements, we use them only to make arrangements for the event, share them only with providers who need them to do so, and delete them within 90 days after the event.
We keep BuildX participant and community records for up to 24 months after the last BuildX event or interaction you took part in, unless you remain an active member or ask us to delete them sooner. Travel and accommodation details are kept only as long as needed to arrange the event and for related financial records. Photographs and recordings are kept in line with the consent you gave. Records we must keep by law, such as financial and tax records, are kept for the legally required period.

Contact details of potential partners and counterparties are kept while the relationship is active and reviewed periodically. Contracts, invoices and other records that the law requires us to keep are kept for the legally required period.
You can ask to access, correct or delete your information, or withdraw your consent, at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 17. Your other rights are described in Section 12.
